 Donated Chainsaws

The San Bernardino National Forest Association Adopt-A-Trail Volunteer program is critically important to the
4-Wheeling community. It allows us to interact directly with the U.S. Forest Service, giving a "face" to the 4-Wheeling
community that might otherwise go unnoticed. Maintaining our presence in the forest ensures that we can continue to
have access to the wonderful trails and scenery that we all enjoy so much.

Adopt-A-Trail gives us the opportunity to give back to the environment that which we enjoy so much, and allows us to
help ensure that the forest is available to ALL people and all activities. It proves that we can responsibly enjoy our
chosen sport without irreversibly damaging the surrounding environment.
Each trail is different, but this is a list of the typical maintenance that maybe required:

Removing logs and brush that encroach on the trail
Install, repair, and clean water bars or other drainage structures
Provide protection for stream crossings, meadows, and wet areas
Place rocks or logs on trail for better traction
Maintain trail to the designated rating
Remove traces of any use that occurs off the designated trail
Remove litter and any foreign items from trail
Install, maintain, and replace trail markers
Install, maintain, and replace signs and bulletin boards as needed

The Inland Empire Four Wheelrs are proud to have adopted the following trails from within the SBNF:

2N27Y Rouse Meadows

2N28Y Rouse Meadows

2N29Y Stove Flats

Horsethief Flats

3N06 Mt Baldy Rd

Since 1998 our Membership has been dedicated to keeping these trails in optimum condition, in accordance with the Annual Maintenance Plan developed each year after the Spring Thaw.

We teach our Members and Guests about the need to cooperate with the National Forest, as an important piece in keeping the trails open for our use and the use of future generations.
